  • I met many kids in college (most from Asian families) who were raised this way. They lacked originality, individuality, and were emotionally immature. They had absolutely no anger management skills and were oblivious to when they hurt others - and blamed it on the person who was hurt.

  • Dave, I don't think this law will specifically apply to tourists. It will apply to spouses and children of Swiss citizens, many of whom have legal immigrant status. In that case, yes, additional judicial review would be necessary, to explore alternative sentencing options if nothing else.

  • Sardonic joking aside, I think this measure is too extreme - I think the government's counterproposal to administer a case-by-case judicial review prior to deportation is more fair and just. Unfortunately, mass hysteria has afflicted 52% of Swiss voters.

  • Yeah, we can't just stop there.  Let's also deport American citizens found guilty of murder, rape, and benefit fraud to a spot To Be Determined!  ALL criminals should be deported!  Is Guantanamo full?  (Being born in a country doesn't make a person less of a criminal.)

  • The no jobs thing started before 2008.  The financial crisis happened before Obama was even elected.  He wasn't sworn in as president until late January 2009.  Where's YOUR sense of time and blame?
